While driving on a country road outside of town, I saw large flocks of snow geese making their way south in a V formation. I recalled a story of how the lead goose is at the head of the V formation for a period of time breaking the wind and making it easier for the other geese in the flock to fly. The other geese honk and honk to encourage the leader. After a period of time the lead goose falls to the back of the V and another goose takes over the lead position. The former lead goose joins the other geese in honking to encourage the new lead goose.
What if we humans followed the geese model and encouraged one another with praise instead of criticism.
